Sunlight is our lighting standard. A typical digital camera is made in such a way that it is easy to use in normal daylight and you would expect to shoot at settings of ISO 100 or ISO 200. Early or late day however, something will have to be adjusted - the shutter speed or the aperture.
In order to be able to continue shooting easily, hand holding with a fairly fast shutter speed, a higher sensitivity would be a better idea. Raising the sensitivity from ISO 100 to ISO 400 makes the camera 4 times more sensitive to light, which means you can use a shutter speed 4 times faster or an aperture 4 times smaller.
Here are my images at different ISO settings. When you first look at them there is not much noticeable difference. I had my images on Lightroom and put them on full screen, the higher ISO shows a more grainy image, this is called noise, I looked at various parts of the picture, the leaves and the marks on the on the headdress. The leaves are probably where its easiest to see a difference. Here are my photos...
