Exercise: Judging colour temperature 1

With the White Balance set to daylight, I have taken the following three pictures.  The first at midday, in full sunlight.  The second also Midday but taken in the shade and lastly one taken when the sun is close to the horizon.

The things that I notice are that the colours are richer in the full sunlight, the photo in the shadow is very blue / grey and the skin tones are very different.  Also the final picture didn't seem as dark at the time of taking and I could see the details of the subject more.  In the picture all you have is a silhouette of the figure..
